Although Bill Hamid is about ready to make his season debut, goalkeeper Travis Worra will start his 11th consecutive match Friday when D.C. United visits the Philadelphia Union, Coach Ben Olsen said Wednesday.
Worra, a second-year pro who made one league appearance last year, is coming off his best performance of the spring, making several sterling saves during a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls last Friday at RFK Stadium. He has conceded 10 goals in 10 matches and posted four shutouts.
Hamid, United’s longtime starter and a U.S. national team candidate, had knee surgery in January.
