D.C. United announced today that the team had reached an agreement with Maxim Tissot to mutually terminate his contract. Tissot, 25, is a member of Canada’s national team pool and had signed with United at the end of this year’s preseason after a successful trial (which itself had been instigated by a trial last summer).
In the end, though, Taylor Kemp’s standing as the starting left back and a deep pool of potential left midfielders meant few opportunities for Tissot, who ended up playing more minutes on loan with the Richmond Kickers than he did with United.
