With D.C. United preparing for both the short term (training camp opens in five weeks) and long term (the new stadium at Buzzard Point), the Insider sat down with managing general partner Jason Levien this week for a wide-ranging discussion.
Part I: The team.
The primary focus at the moment is defensive midfielder Perry Kitchen, a five-year starter who is out of contract and weighing options in Europe. Danish and German clubs have come forward, the Insider has learned.
United, though, remains in the hunt. “We are in discussions to bring him back,” Levien said.
