D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid to have MRI exam after injury scare at Atlanta

D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid, who remained in Sunday’s match despite suffering a groin injury in the early moments, did not practice Tuesday and will undergo an MRI exam, Coach Ben Olsen said.

The club considers him day to day ahead of Saturday’s game against the Montreal Impact at RFK Stadium.

“I think he’ll be okay,” Olsen said, “but he needs a day or two to get looked at and get scanned.”

Hamid made two sterling saves in the first three minutes of the 3-1 victory at Atlanta, a performance that prevented the match from quickly getting out of hand.
