D.C. United claimed two Brazilians in the last round of the MLS draft Sunday and, the Insider has learned, invited veteran right back Sheanon Williams to training camp, which will open Monday in Washington.
In the fourth round, United selected Albany forward Afonso Pinheiro (Sao Paulo) and Virginia Commonwealth midfielder Rafael Andrade Santos (Rio de Janeiro) before passing on its final pick of the draft. Two days earlier, D.C. did not have any selections in the first two rounds after trading the No. 3 overall choice to Los Angeles FC on the morning of the draft.
