D.C. United cuts ties with all its goalkeepers amid roster overhaul

A four-time champion with no MLS Cup appearances in 20 years, United has not qualified for the playoffs since 2019.

D.C. United announced Friday it has declined to exercise contract options on nine players, including all four goalkeepers, leaving ample room on the roster and salary cap for a winter makeover.

United retained two players entering option years: all-star right back Aaron Herrera and rookie defender Garrison Tubbs.
