The last game at RFK Stadium is sure to be an emotionally charged event for D.C. United and it’s fans, but Sunday started off on the right foot with the Legends game. Featuring stars from all four MLS Cups, two teams filled with former United and Washington Diplomats celebrated the history of soccer at RFK with a 50 minute game, with the Black team beating the Red team 5-4.
Yesterday, several of the legends came out to United’s open practice, milling about with the fans that supported them during their time with the Black-and-Red. Stories were shared, memorabilia was signed, and what is meant to be a fun weekend got off on the right foot.
