Crystal Dunn scores 5 goals as U.S. women’s soccer team routs Puerto Rico, 10-0

Crystal Dunn, a 23-year-old attacker for the Washington Spirit, tied a U.S. women’s national team record with five goals Monday during a 10-0 destruction of Puerto Rico at the CONCACAF Olympic women’s qualifying tournament in Frisco, Tex.

Dunn, the 2015 MVP in the National Women’s Soccer League, joined Brandi Chastain, Michelle Akers, Tiffeny Milbrett, Abby Wambach, Amy Rodriguez and Sydney Leroux atop the single-match scoring chart.

“It’s safe to say,” she wrote on her Twitter page, “that not very much can ruin my night.”

Her goals came in the sixth, 21st, 61st, 85th and 87th minutes as the Americans breezed through group play with three victories and a 16-0 goal differential.
