Crystal Dunn rejoins Washington Spirit, Canadian Olympians to return next week

U.S. Olympian Crystal Dunn rejoined the Washington Spirit on Monday, but the three Canadians who won bronze medals will take the week off before reporting back to the National Women’s Soccer League front-runners.

Dunn was off for a week following the top-ranked Americans’ upset loss to Sweden in the Aug. 12 quarterfinals. She missed the Spirit’s 2-1 victory at Houston last Thursday, a result that lifted first-place Washington (10-3-2) three points ahead of Portland with five games left in the regular season.

Dunn, the 2015 NWSL MVP, played in all four Olympic matches, starting two and scoring once.
