The distance to RFK Stadium from the University of Maryland’s Ludwig Field is 11 1/2 miles, but from the time Patrick Mullins launched his pro career to the moment he entered D.C. United’s locker room Thursday morning, his commute had taken 2 1/2 years.
“It feels very familiar,” he said after his first training session with United.
