When Bill Hamid takes his place on the field for the first time since returning to D.C. United, he will do so with a new number. The team announced today that Hamid will wear the 24 jersey in his second stint with the team.
Hamid spent his first stint as the goalkeeper for the Black-and-Red wearing #28, a number he wore from 2009-2017. However, Joseph Mora, acquired in the off-season by the team, currently holds the number most fans associate with the 27-year-old shot stopper. Hamid wore #16 with FC Midjtylland, the Danish team he was with before yesterday’s loan back to his hometown club.
