Ben Olsen will return for a 10th season as D.C. United’s head coach, the organization’s chief executive said Tuesday, ending speculation of a change for a team that hasn’t won a playoff match since 2015.
“We’ve gone through a process the last two months to prepare for next season, and it’s clear to us that Ben is the best person to continue to lead this team on the field,” Jason Levien said in an interview.
Olsen is under contract through the 2021 season, but in October, after United lost in the first round of the MLS playoffs, Levien said he would evaluate Olsen’s status.
