With several new faces and Antti Niemi playing the hero, Stars found a way to scrap out a win over Jets

A roster wasn't required to identify the Stars players Tuesday night, but it sure was helpful.

With the six players hurt or sick, Dallas is relying greatly on a group of relative unknowns to keep things going, and that group was solid in a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets at American Airlines Center. Justin Dowling made his NHL debut and had an assist. Devin Shore had two assists in NHL game No. 9. And Gemel Smith logged 11:18 in ice time in his second NHL game.

The Stars also received spirited efforts from Patrick Eaves, Tyler Seguin and John Klingberg, so the big names showed up, as well.
