FRISCO -- John Klingberg doesn't look like a Norris Trophy winner, not with his narrow frame nor his relative absence on the penalty kill nor his 13 career playoff games. He's a 180-pound anomaly at a position dominated by hulking men patrolling the blue line, but still he remains in the conversation for the Norris Trophy, given annually to the best defenseman in the NHL.
Perhaps it's the way he led all defensemen last season in both assists and points during 5-on-5. Or the way he ranked in the top 10 defensemen at suppressing shot attempts when he was on the ice.
