NEW YORK -- With apologies to Meatloaf, two out of three ain't that great.
At least for the Stars on Thursday, it wasn't.
Dallas had great goaltending and great penalty killing, but couldn't get the offense going in a 3-0 loss to the New York Islanders at Barclay Center.
It was a special sort of pain for the Stars, who are among the league dregs in penalty killing and goaltending but were coming off a 7-6 win against the Rangers Tuesday in which they flexed their offensive muscles. On a night when the weakest links were forged in steel, the top players didn't come through.
