Since the Stars arrival in Dallas ahead of the 1993 season, Ralph Strangis has been in the front row to witness it all.

Here’s a look at the very first pregame show in Dallas Stars history. A younger Strangis, then the Dallas Stars first color commentator, joined original play-by-play man Mike Fornes ahead of the Stars opener at Reunion Arena on October 5, 1993.

The Stars won the game 6-4, and Strangis continued to broadcast Stars games for 22 seasons. He announced his departure from the organization Thursday.
