NHL free agency opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Stars will be looking for depth at center and a backup goalie.
Their first order of business is to determine if they can keep ultra-talented center Tyler Seguin.
The Stars have Seguin under contract for one more season. On the first day of the league year, teams can do extensions with players who can become a free agent after the coming season.
"This might be something that happens fast,'' Stars general manager Jim Nill said. "It might be something that takes the whole year to get done.
