Tyler Seguin has shoulder surgery Monday, should be ready to go for training camp

Stars center Tyler Seguin had shoulder surgery Monday to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder.

Recovery should be about four months, or well before training camp starts, general manager Jim Nill said.

"He'll be in a sling for two to four weeks and then he'll be able to start his workouts," Nill said. "There should be plenty of time to recover."

Seguin has battled several serious injuries since coming to Dallas in 2013. He suffered an MCL tear in 2015 on a low hit from Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov that kept him out for about a month.
