Tyler Seguin has heard the comparisons to Mike Modano since he came to Dallas in 2013, and he's always had the philosophy that he doesn't want to be the next Mike Modano, he wants to be the first Tyler Seguin.
That attitude will be even more important this season, as the easy storyline for the 25-year-old center is that coach Ken Hitchcock will attempt to recreate his conversion of Modano into a two-way center with Seguin. But both sides say this Blade Runner reboot has quite a different twist.
"I think there are definitely comparisons. I know Mo changed his game with Hitch, so it's easy to say it's going to be the same with me," Seguin said.
