TORONTO — When Kari Lehtonen fumbled a puck and gave up an easy goal four minutes into Wednesday game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, someone in the press box exclaimed, "What else can wrong?"
Well, have I got a story for you.
The Stars took a winding path through a perilous forest and saw feats of beauty and horror. But in the end, the morale was sort of the same. They didn't have enough in a 6-5 shootout loss and they once against questioned their ability to raise their game in an intense playoff-like setting.
"We came back and won the hockey game about three times, but we ran out of gas," Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said.
