Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars scored four goals in the first including three in the first 5:20 and never looked back en route to a 5-2 beating of the Grand Rapid Griffins Saturday night at the HEB Center at Cedar Park. Defenseman Thomas Harley had a goal and two assists in the opening frame to set the tone while netminder Matt Murray had a quiet, but solid night between the pipes tallying 20 stops to earn the victory.
"It's big two points" Texas head coach Neil Graham said after the game. "I think we were able to capitalize early on some plays and we'll bank them, but it's going to be important to reset for tomorrow.
