After a handful of overtime games on the season, Texas went to the shootout for the first time this season. Newcomer Jordan Kawaguchi and leading scorer Adam Mascherin were the goal scorers in the second and third rounds as Texas beat Colorado by a 2-1 margin on the final scoresheet. It was Texas's first win in the last five tries, breaking up their longest pointless streak since November 2019.
Colton Point got the start and stopped 30 of 31 through 65 minutes and two of three in the shootout.
Texas got on the board first in this one as Nick Baptiste found the scoreboard for the first time since losing his ten-game scoring streak.
