The Dallas Stars selected center Ty Dellandra, of Flint in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, with the 13th overall pick in the NHL draft.
Dellandra, 17, is considered a top-level skater whose speed allows him to separate from defenders He had 27 goals and 59 points in 67 games with a mediocre team last season.
Dellandra is listed at 6 feet 1 and 190 pounds. He is expected to add muscle as his body matures.
The NHL Scouting Bureau listed him as No. 25 among the top draft-eligible skaters from North America.
