The Texas Stars couldn't complete the weekend sweep of the San Antonio Rampage, falling 2-1 on Saturday. Landon Bow put together another good outing, stopping 27 of 29 shots. Defenseman Brent Regner scored the lone goal for the Stars in the third period.
Recently signed to an amateur tryout agreement after finishing his career at Northern Michigan University, forward Robbie Payne played in his first professional game. Payne did get off a quality shot in the second period but otherwise went unnoticed.
After hitting a couple of posts in the first period, the Rampage broke open the scoring with about a minute and a half left with a goal from Andrew Agozzino.
