Stars miss multiple opportunities, lack finish in 5-1 loss to Jets

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- In a vanilla, ordinary, plain 5-1 loss to Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon, the Stars missed opportunities.

Presented with a chance to climb within two points of the Jets, they didn't. Given a chance to extend the season-long five-game point streak to six, they didn't. They could have tied a season high with a third straight road victory. They didn't.

But in the wreckage of a four-goal loss that didn't feel that large, a chorus of Stars were upbeat about their play.

"It's one of our better road games of the year, and we still didn't come out on top," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said.
