Stars lose defensive battle in overtime to Oilers in first meeting with Ken Hitchcock

EDMONTON, Alberta -- For one night in Edmonton -- amid the star power of Connor McDavid and Tyler Seguin and Leon Draisaitl and Jamie Benn -- Hitch hockey made its return.

During the Stars' 1-0 overtime loss over the Oilers on Tuesday night, defense reigned in a battle that matched former Dallas boss Ken Hitchcock with new Stars coach Jim Montgomery. Both goaltenders stopped what few high-quality chances they faced. Both teams rattled the boards with hits.

It was a night out of the Ken Hitchcock playbook, one last seen in Dallas last season. And it was decided by Oscar Klefbom's goal 2:42 into the overtime period.
