Stars free agency primer: Jim Nill may work his magic, but it looks like a quiet offseason for the Stars

The Stars' offseason plan looks a little loopy right now.

General manager Jim Nill appears ready to trust his two goalies, who ranked 19th in goals against average (2.78) and 23rd in save percentage (.904).

He will likely let go of three defensemen who were among the Stars' leaders in time on ice and could earn a combined $14 million playing for other teams next season.

And he might not make that big trade that has won over fans in each of his first three seasons at the helm of the Stars.

"I know some people think I'm crazy, but I like where we are," Nill said this week.
