After the Stars' season ended with a 2-1 double-overtime loss in Game 7 to St. Louis on Tuesday night, coach Jim Montgomery said Roope Hintz was the team's best forward in the game -- and he was with a fractured foot.
Hintz fractured his left foot during Game 6 against the Blues, wore a walking boot at the airport the next day, missed morning skate in St. Louis before logging 23:35 in a double-overtime game. Hintz's foot was numbed by injections, and it was a matter of fitting his swollen foot into his skate.
"It was the Stanley Cup playoffs, so I tried to do everything [so] that I could play," Hintz said.
