DENVER -- The Stars made Julius Honka lead the morning skate stretches Saturday and then converged to smother him with jabs and punches all in celebration of his 21st birthday.
It was a memorable moment for the rookie defenseman.
"These awesome guys," Honka said. "I thought it was fun."
Honka played in his seventh NHL game Saturday, a pretty good accomplishment for any 21-year-old. The 14th overall pick in the 2014 draft has moved up quickly in the Stars organization, and the fact he is getting games in a system that has eight NHL defensemen is a testament to how good he already is.
