John Klingberg doesn't lack confidence.
It's one of the things that has helped him bloom from a fifth-round draft pick into the Stars' top paid defenseman.
But as the 24-year-old battles through his third season in the NHL, he's finding out that confidence can be a tricky weapon. Klingberg last season rode his courage to some of the best blue-line numbers in the NHL, hanging onto the puck, making dazzling plays and feeding a team that won 50 games and led the NHL in scoring by 15 goals.
This season, he's had bouts of trying to do too much, causing noticeable mistakes for a 9-8-5 team that is 28th in goal differential at minus-15.
