Stars defenseman Esa Lindell was asked to shoot the puck more. He responded with a two-goal game

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The message got through to Esa Lindell. Just ask Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss.

Prior to Friday night's win over Boston, Stars assistant coach Rick Bowness pulled Lindell aside and asked the 24-year-old to shoot the puck more. With John Klingberg sidelined by a hand injury, Lindell (and Miro Heiskanen) have absorbed more responsibility on the Stars blue line. That included on offense.

Lindell scored two goals during Sunday's 6-2 win over the Islanders, the first career two-goal game for the steady Finnish defenseman. He did so by firing five shots on goal against New York and chasing Greiss after he snuck one through the pads.
