FRISCO -- Not every experience with the NHL draft goes smoothly. Take the experience of high-scoring left winger Adam Mascherin, whom the Stars selected with pick No. 100 in last weekend's draft.
This was Mascherin's second time around in the draft. Florida took him at No. 38 in 2016. The honeymoon did not last long.
Mascherin never signed with Florida. On Wednesday, during the Stars' development camp, he declined to discuss what went wrong with the Panthers.
Florida general manager Dale Tallon was more forthcoming after his club lost negotiating rights to Mascherin on June 1.
