EDMONTON, Alberta -- The struggling Stars power play will receive another new look on Tuesday night in Edmonton against the Oilers.
Devin Shore will move up to the first unit and occupy the slot as the "bumper" while Jason Spezza will dip to the second unit along the half-wall. It's the latest move for the Stars power play that has scored on just 5 of its last 52 opportunities. Since the Oct. 16 game at New Jersey, no NHL team has a worse power play than the Stars' 9.6 percent.
"We wanted Spezza to be on the second unit because we felt he's a real half-wall guy and he makes the second unit a little more threatening than it's been," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said Tuesday morning.
