Stars coach Jim Montgomery takes blame for team's preparation, performance in loss to Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH -- After an embarrassing 5-1 loss in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, Stars coach Jim Montgomery pointed the finger at himself, saying he should absorb the blame for the dubbing because he did not prepare the team well enough.

He didn't think the Stars were ready for the Penguins' start. He didn't think the Stars were ready to win faceoffs. By the time the Stars played even with Pittsburgh, they already trailed 5-0 in a game where their starting goaltender was chased and they couldn't crack 20 shots for the second straight game.

"I got to analyze [what needs to change]," Montgomery said.
