Stars captain Jamie Benn is in Frisco rehabbing from double hip surgery and said he expects to spend most of the summer in North Texas.
Benn just finished off a season in which he led the NHL in scoring with 87 points in 82 games and also was named one of three finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award, given to the league’s most outstanding player as voted on by the players.
However, he battled through hip pain, so he and the Stars decided now would be a good time to have surgery to clean up bone spurs that were irritating cartilage in his hip.
