SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Remi Elie is just the latest in an interesting brand of player the Stars are accumulating.
A gritty winger with speed, the 21-year-old has shown in four NHL games that he can not only grind with the fourth liners but that he can keep up with the first-liners.
In a lot of ways, that's similar to how Stars coach Lindy Ruff has used Antoine Roussel, Mattias Janmark and Devin Shore over the last two seasons. While Shore and Janmark aren't quite the battlers that Elie and Roussel are, they will win puck battles and play responsible defense, and that's important for a team that gives up a lot of scoring chances.
