After a handful of weather-related travel snafus, the Texas Stars finally made their way to Manitoba for a single contest of their originally-planned two against the Moose, losing 2-1 in a shootout. Adam Scheel got the start in the matinee affair and halted 34 of 35 shots sent his way in regulation and OT. The shootout required 12 rounds before a winner could be decided.
The lone goal scorer in regulation for Texas was Ty Dellandrea. It was the only goal scored on special teams for either club on the afternoon. The Stars had four chances with the extra man, netting one goal, to Manitoba's 0-for-3 effort.
