Rare shutout shows Stars still have some fight left in them

The Stars showed disciplined defense Monday night at American Airlines Center and took only their second shutout of the season.

Kari Lehtonen posted 30 saves to get his 36th career shutout, but a lot of the credit had to go to a Dallas team that finally cracked down and played the kind of team defense that creates a boring game, but an exciting result.

It was an intriguing performance for a Stars team that had allowed 22 goals in its previous five games while going 1-4-0. Was this a great display of the pride needed to finish the season on a strong note?
