Today is Election Day in the state of Texas and one of the ballot measures, Proposition 4, could have a big impact on the gameday experience at your next Dallas Stars game. The measure would allow professional sports teams in the state to conduct popular 50/50 raffles that many fans may be familiar with from other markets across the hockey landscape. However, the measure won't affect the Texas Stars or any other minor league team in Texas.
Jason Farris, board chair of the Dallas Stars Foundation, notes that the 50/50 raffle is "part of the culture of hockey in lots of other markets around North America.
