In the marathon that is an NHL career, Dan Hamhuis isn't hitting the wall, he's getting his second wind.
The 35-year-old defenseman will play the 1,000th regular-season game of his career Tuesday at American Airlines Center, and he'll do it while having a very nice season.
"It means a lot as a defending player," Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said of the 1,000-game mark. "Every place Dan has played, he's had hard minutes, heavy hard minutes, and he's not a big guy. He deserves so much credit for being able to extend his career playing a very hard position.
