CEDAR PARK - Ken Hitchcock's message that Sunday's "Prospects Scrimmage" was going to help separate the wanna-be's from the big boys was probably aimed at the younger players in camp.
But Justin Dowling heard the message very clearly.
Dowling, who will turn 27 on Oct. 1, made a statement with two goals and all-around disciplined play. It was definitely noticed by the powers-that-be.
"The scrimmage, for me, changed our mind on three or four players," Hitchcock said. "It's changed our mind on the roster for (Tuesday's) exhibition game. It's changed our mind on who is going to stay and who is going to go.
