DENVER -- A week ago, the Stars' game in Edmonton on Tuesday night figured to be just another road game against a team from the Western Conference. Sure, Connor McDavid is on the Oilers and he'd present matchup difficulties. But Edmonton was struggling in the Pacific Division, and the Stars were battling both injuries and the rest of the Central Division. It was just another game.
Then things changed.
The Oilers fired coach Todd McLellan on Nov. 20 and installed a familiar face behind their bench: former Stars coach Ken Hitchcock.
Tuesday will be the first meeting between Hitchcock and the Stars since he left the organization.
