The Dallas Stars found the solution to their back-up goaltending question mark during the offseason when general manager Jim Nill acquired the rights to Antti Niemi from San Jose. He and Kari Lehtonen have combined for a rather spectacular year so far.
Over the course of the 2015-16 regular season they’ve battled on a seemingly rotating basis of starting, alternating between the two depending on who was winning. For the last few weeks, however, Lehtonen has taken advantage and finds himself as the go-to guy in net.
No. 32 Takes the Reigns
Lehtonen has started in nine of Dallas’ last ten match-ups and has a season goals against of 2.
