The depleted Texas Stars narrowly avoided a shutout and lost handily to the San Antonio Rampage 4-1 on Friday night. The game was never close, although Justin Dowling's marker late in the third period with the empty Texas net made it more respectable. Phillipe Desrosiers got the start in net in place of recently called-up Landon Bow and finished with 20 saves on 23 shots.
Rampage forward Ryan Olsen broke open the scoring with about seven minutes left in the opening frame during a delayed penalty call. San Antonio emptied their net and took their time to set up Olsen for the goal during 6-on-5 play.
