For the first time in the history of both franchises, the Texas Stars squared off with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in their building and came away with a 4-3 win. That pushes their current point streak to five games as the Stars have won five of their last six.
Forward Joel Kiviranta had the hot hand in the contest and tallied two successive goals in the second period to give the Stars a 3-1 lead. The first came within the first two minutes of the middle frame, while the second was a thing of beauty ten minutes later.
