WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- A sluggish start and special-teams struggles Thursday night put the Stars behind early, as the Winnipeg Jets evened up the season series at a game apiece with a 4-1 victory in the second matchup between the Central Division rivals in three nights.
The Stars were unable to convert on a pair of 5-on-3 opportunities, while their seven penalties resulted in two goals against as Patrik Laine, the 2016 second overall draft pick, scored a pair of power-play goals. Fellow Jets rookie Kyle Connor notched the game-winner late in the first period with his first career NHL goal.
