WINNIPEG - Jason Dickinson certainly appreciated the compliment from his head coach, but said he knew exactly how his job works.
Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said Dickinson deserved to make the opening roster out of camp, but that numbers and contracts forced some decisions by management. But Dickinson said he understood his situation when he got sent down.
"If I'd really been good enough at camp, I could have pushed somebody out of a spot," Dickinson said upon being recalled this week and making his season debut against the Jets Thursday. "I don't think it's really anything to look into, but I think now, I'm trying to give myself a chance, and I've got an opportunity here to try and take it.
