Mattias Janmark's absence during the 2016-17 season has been one of the most important factors in the Stars missing the playoffs.
So getting the versatile forward back for next season is one of the most important aspects of the offseason.
Janmark suffered a bone fracture in September and a congenital condition called osteochondritis dissecans has slowed the healing of his knee.
Janmark has been skating recently and even joined the Stars for practices, but he confirmed Wednesday that he will not play in a game this season and that his recovery is still a bit of an unknown until doctors can confirm the bone is fully healed.
