VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Five weeks before the Stars' 2-1 win over the Canucks on Saturday afternoon, inside the visiting dressing room in Detroit, after an embarrassing loss to the then-last place Red Wings, Stars captain Jamie Benn sat in his stall and stewed. The goals weren't coming. Neither were the road wins.
So Benn looked internally for answers. He said everything in his personal game could get better. He said he needed to work harder to get there. He labeled his play as "pretty bad, just as simple as that."
That Jamie Benn hasn't been present recently.
