Jamie Benn was named one of the three finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award on Tuesday night. Even though Benn fits the category perfectly, it still came as a shock to many Stars fans, especially considering the three prior snubs the Stars had already received in the NHL Awards process.
The Ted Lindsay Award is presented annually to the “Most Outstanding Player” in the NHL, as voted by fellow members of the NHLPA. This means the NHL’s MVP according to the players themselves. Jamie Benn and Carey Price will be going for the first Ted Lindsay Award of their careers, while Alex Ovechkin will be hunting for his fourth (share the wealth a little, will ya?
